A MAN has been fined £1,000 for failing to take steps to rid his property of rats.
At Newcastle Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, Marc Steven Mason (48), of Castle Road, Prudhoe, was fined £440 and £550 for separate charges of failing to get a pest controller to get rid of rats after receiving two notifications from Newcastle City Council last July. He was also ordered to pay costs of £877 and a victim surcharge of £99.
