Police were on the scene on Monday night after a road accident, understood to have involved two vehicles.
The accident, on the Hexham to Allendale B6305 road, happened just south of the Hexham racecourse road, near West Nubbock.
Heavy snow is forecast to hit Allendale and the North Pennines later tonight, with warnings of treacherous driving conditions.
