PARTS of Tynedale have been warned to expect heavy snow showers and icy surfaces this week.
In the wake of the devastation caused by Storm Ciara at the weekend, the Met Office has issued a yellow snow and ice warning for parts of the UK between 3pm on Monday and midnight on Tuesday.
Those living and working in the west of the district are set to be affected, with the warning covering the communities of Allendale, Haltwhistle, Alston and into Cumbria.
Communities on the A68 towards the Scottish borders are also included in the warning.
