AN ALLEN Valleys charity, which has raised more than £120,000 for good causes since it was formed, has revealed its events programme for the year ahead.
Allendale Lions was established in 2003 and currently has 21 members. Starting today, and running until Saturday, the club will help stage the Allendale Pantomime’s production of Peter Pan at the village hall.
The 12th Cliff Calvert Lions’ Classic golf competition, held in memory of a former Lions club member, takes place at Allendale Golf Club on July 2 where golfers of all abilities can enjoy a variety of competitions, raffles and refreshments.
In October, the charity’s auction, its biggest fund-raising event, takes place at the village hall. Last year, more than £4,500 was raised after more than 800 lots were drawn for local good causes.
Early preparations for the annual bonfire and fireworks display on Bonfire Night are also under way.
