A FUND-RAISING campaign has been launched to pay for a new minibus at a special needs school.
Hexham Priory School is in desperate need of a replacement vehicle to replace one of its ageing adapted minibuses, which has been deemed too expensive to fix.
Headteacher Liz Davison explained that the school needed at least £35,000 for a new vehicle.
She said: “We’ve had the current bus since 2003. It was donated by the Wooden Spoon Charity.
“We do such a lot of work outside of school to support the curriculum.
“I think it will be at least £35,000, but they go up to around £60,000.”
The Friends of Hexham Priory, made up of parents of children at the school, has been fund-raising for the bus.
Donations can be made via a justgiving page at justgiving.com/crowdfunding/FOHPSminibus, or by contacting the school.
