AN endurance swimmer has raised awareness of climate change while open water swimming in New Zealand.
Fenwick Ridley, from Hexham, trained in Hooker Lake to help acclimatise his body to the cold water conditions he will experience in national competitions later this year.
“I have been blown away by the speed in which glaciers are melting.
“This gave me real perspective of global warming,” he said.
