MOWDEN Hall school has chosen a new headteacher to replace outgoing headteacher, Neal Bailey.

Mr Bailey will leave the independent school in July to take over as headteacher at Pinewood School in Wiltshire. He will be replaced by current deputy headteacher Kate Martin, who has been at the school since 2011.

She was selected by the trustees of the Cothill Trust that runs the school, fending off competition from an impressive group of candidates during a rigorous recruitment process.

Mr Bailey said: “We feel extremely confident that Mrs Martin possesses the right skills and experience to lead the Mowden Hall community in the next chapter.”

Mrs Martin added: “ As the current deputy head, I am absolutely delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the new headteacher. Mowden Hall is a very special place.”
