COMMUNITY groups in Prudhoe have come together to tidy up part of the town.

A litter pick in West Wylam, Prudhoe was attended by pupils from Adderlane Academy along with representatives from housing association Karbon Homes, Northumberland County Council, and businesses in the area.

County councillor Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, attended the litter pick and believed it was a success.

Coun. Stewart said: “This is a great example of people coming together to make the town a better place. The area looks fantastic now.

“The feeling of many people in Prudhoe is that the town is a lot cleaner than it used to be.

“That’s down to the hard work of people taking part in events like this – but there is still a long way to go.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and took part.”
