PEOPLE still have a chance to have their say on a proposal which would see Hexham’s post office change location.
The branch, which currently operates from Hexham Outlet Centre, formerly Beales, is due to move to a new premises on Battle Hill.
The new shop, to be called High Street Convenience Store, would retain the current post office opening hours if the plans go ahead.
At this week’s meeting of Hexham Town Council, county councillor Cath Homer said it had taken a lot of work to find a suitable premises, due to the Post Office’s policy of not having stand-alone stores.
A consultation on the plans runs until January 31 and customers can share their views online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 455329.
Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk or by telephone on 03452 66 01 15.
