POLICE and mountain rescue volunteers were on stand-by after a couple got lost while out walking near a village.
Northumbria Police and members of Northumberland National Park and North of Tyne mountain rescue services received a report of two walkers reporting themselves lost in the Boghead area of Ninebanks at 4.30pm on Monday.
Concerns were raised when the couple’s 999 call dropped out of service, but the couple encountered some workers in the area who helped out.
