THE strong winds encountered on Tuesday caused disruption throughout the Tyne Valley.
Northumbria Police received reports of trees blocking a road in Corbridge just after 5.30pm and at Brunton Bank, near Chollerford, at 7pm, while a tree also fell on the Lead Road, in Stocksfield, causing disruption in both directions.
The weather vane on the former Tourist Information Centre in Hexham's Wentworth car park was blown of the building, while a fallen tree caused damage to the swimming pool pump house at Walwick Hall Hotel.
Further winds are expected in the region this week with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office for Friday.
