POLICE have confirmed an investigation is ongoing after reports of a man carrying a machete in a Hexham pub on New Year's Eve.
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "At 10.46pm on December 31, we received a report of a man carrying a machete outside the Hexham Wetherspoon pub, The Forum, in the Market Place."
A 42-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has now been released on bail while inquiries continue.
