FATHER Christmas wasn’t the only one delivering gifts on Christmas Day.
Two councillors took time out from their day on December 25 to bring some festive cheer to people who work in industries which do not close over Christmas.
The gifts were given to staff working at care homes in Prudhoe over the the festive period.
County councillor Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, and the town’s mayor, Coun. Tracy Gilmore, visited the Manors, Redbrick House, and Havendene care homes in the town to deliver presents to staff.
The range of festive treats delivered had been donated by management at Prudhoe’s Co-op petrol station.
Coun. Stewart said: “I was delighted to be able to work with the Co-op petrol station to support the staff and residents at the care homes.
“The gifts were from the Co-op themselves. Management gave three bags of goods to be donated.”
