A POPULAR local hospital has been handed a festive funding boost.
Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital this week received a donation of £5,000 from pioneering industrial fluids specialist Kilfrost, which operates from its base in Haltwhistle.
The money will be put towards enhancing the relatives’ room at the facility, which was one of the first in the country to provide hospital and social care support under one roof when it opened in 2014.
Gary Lydiate, CEO of Kilfrost, said: “We’re committed to supporting the community and helping the hospital is a way of giving to the entire community. This is true for those people who need the help and support that it provides.”
Ward manager at the hospital, Val Reynolds, said: “On behalf of everyone at Haltwhistle hospital, I’d like to thank Kilfrost for their donation – it’s great to receive support from a community business.”
