A FALLEN tree is causing disruption for motorists in the Tyne Valley.
Police received reports that a tree fell across the A686 Alston Road, near Haydon Bridge, at 10.05am on Tuesday.
Officers said the road was blocked in both directions, however, the road was being cleared and was set to open shortly.
It is understood nobody was hurt in the incident, which followed strong winds overnight.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “Traffic is currently having to turn around. Farmers are on the scene clearing the road and it should be open very soon."
