A CORBRIDGE business which focuses on handcrafted kitchens and furniture has been crowned the winner of an industry award.
Alexander Carrick, makers of handcrafted Northumbrian kitchens and furniture, has been announced winner of this year's Living North Designer Maker Award.
Picked from hundreds of nominations, Alexander Carrick was singled out for its creative flair and imaginative design with a distinctive Northumbrian flavour.
The company was also praised for “keeping the art of cabinetmaking alive in the region” through its unique apprenticeship scheme.
Terry Carrick, proprietor of the family business, was presented with the award by Emma Dickinson, design manager of BoConcept of Fenwick in Newcastle, at the Living North Awards evening last month.
Terry said: “This year’s nominees were all exceptional, so it was an honour to be nominated for the award, let alone to win it.
“I am very proud of my Northumbrian cabinetmaking pedigree. Alexander Carrick has been working with discerning customers for 38 years and we do it with passion, pride and craftsmanship.”
Alexander Carrick’s workshop and showroom, in Corbridge, showcases kitchens and furniture which are handmade by a small but experienced team of designers and master cabinetmakers.
