A CHRISTMAS fair has raised over £1,000 for summer youth activities in Corbridge.

Corbridge Youth Initiative Christmas Fair was held in November and raised £1,086.28, with the funds going towards activities for its summer programme.

Young people worked running a community cafe for visitors to the fair.

They also made and sold items for stalls on the day, while there was a raffle to help raise more funds.

The event, held in Corbridge Parish Hall, was well-attended by the local community.

Gillian Wood, Corbridge Youth Initiative project coordinator, said: “This is always a very very well supported event.

“We are really fortunate in terms of the local support people give to us.

“People and local businesses donated raffle prizes and lots of people turn up to support it.”
