A CLINIC specialising in the permanent removal of unwanted hair has moved into the heart of the Tyne Valley.

Catherine Hastie has moved her Skin Boutique business from Berwick to Hexham’s Hallgate.

Using the method of electrolysis, the only permanent method or removing unwanted hair, Catherine can also remove skin blemishes, such as skin tags, warts and thread veins, and reduce moles.

Catherine, a member of the British Institute & Association of Electrolysis, said the treatment was popular with people living with cosmetic problems, and was sought after by transgender women and females with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

She said: “Electrolysis is still a sought after treatment because it is the only method of hair removal that has been allowed to be called permanent.

“Other formats of removal that are available aren’t allowed to be classed as permanent, so will be termed as reduction instead.

“I started the business because I wanted to be able to help people who are living with what they see is a problem to them.”

In addition to permanent treatments, Catherine also provides temporary hair removal methods such as waxing, threading and female intimate waxing.

Customers can also receive facial and body treatments aimed at addressing particular concerns, such as anti-ageing.
