THE Met Office has warned that homes and businesses could be flooded this weekend, with heavy rain on the way.
The weather service has issued a yellow weather warning for rain, covering much of the North-East including Tynedale. Heavy rain is expected from 4am on Saturday, and predicted to last until midnight.
Downpours could affect road and rail services, while interruption to power supplies and other services is also likely.
According to the Met Office, up to 25mm is likely to fall in most areas, while higher grounds can expect up to 50mm.
