STEPS are being taken to prevent people parking on pavements in Otterburn.
As part of the Local Transport Plan, Otterburn Parish Council has requested that Northumberland County Council implements prevention techniques along the village’s main road.
Parish clerk Martin Chilvers said: “This has been a concern flagged up by residents. We have heard how walkers with pushchairs or wheelchair users are restricted from using the path, and therefore are forced to walk on the main road which causes a safety risk.
“We have no answer to which measure the council will take, and we’re waiting for its assessment.”
