A YOUTH club that caters for young people with learning difficulties is hosting its first ever Christmas fair.
Happy Faces is a volunteer-led youth club, based in Prudhoe which provides activities for around 30 children.
The community group aims to allow children who have a learning need or caring responsibility to feel socially included.
The fair, which will be held at St Matthew’s Social Club, will run from 10am-12.30pm on Saturday, December 7.
Amanda Carr, who founded the group, said: “We’re having our first ever Christmas fair.
“We’re a volunteer youth club for children with learning difficulties, and we’re going from strength to strength.
“We wanted to do it to raise a bit of money for ourselves.
“We have a chocolate tombola, the chance to win a huge cuddly toy, Christmas crafts, and a selection of stalls selling perfume, books, and handmade jewellery.
Amanda also explained a little of what Happy Faces do in the community.
She continued: “Happy Faces was the brainchild of me and another mum. We’ve now got a five-strong committee.
“We can take a maximum of 30 children, and we run a session every Monday and Wednesday.”
