YOUNG musicians from across the district gathered to perform to hundreds in aid of charity last week.

The event was held at Tynedale cricket club, and was organised by musicians Elle Sunderland, from Riding Mill and Eve Parkinson from Hexham in a joint effort to raise money for Tynedale Hospice at Home, whilst showcasing Tynedale’s young talent.

“The event was in memory of my aunt Pam Nichols, who passed away in April. She loved music, so it was a way of honouring her whilst raising money for a good cause, and giving our local musicians a platform for live performance,” said Elle.

Three of the performers were students from Elle’s singing classes based at Core Music in Hexham.

Performers on the night included Harry Weatherhead, Izzy Skinner, Gregor Fergison, Elenor Cole, Lauren Barns and the youngest on the night seven-year-old Isabella Hick.

Money raised from the event will also go towards funding a charity walk spanning the Great Wall of China which will be completed by Elle’s family members Claire Harrison-Carr, Charlie Nichols and Stewart Nichols. The walk will take place in September.
