FREEZING temperatures caused disruption on the district's roads on Tuesday morning.
Temperatures throughout Tynedale plummeted below 0 degrees as a layer of frost blanketed the landscape.
Northumberland County Council said its gritters had been out from 4.30am and advised motorists to take care and drive according to the conditions.
Commuters are urged to check local forecasts and weather conditions before they travel.
