WINNERS from the Tyne Rivers Trust annual photo competition have been presented with a copy of the 2020 calendar featuring their winning shots.
The calendars were presented by Tobias Zimmerman, plant director at Hexham’s Egger factory, which has sponsored the production costs of the calendar.
The calendar, which is produced every year to support the work of the trust, features 12 scenic images of the Tyne catchment, seven of which show off the beauty of the river landscape across Tynedale.
Winners from Hexham included Ray Bell, Bob Turner and Chris Atkinson, as well as Kay Nixon from Barrasford, Michael Bradley from Haltwhistle, Martin Farrer from Corbridge and Lesley Eagan from Haydon Bridge.
Director of Tyne Rivers Trust, Dr Ceri Gibson, said: “We had a fantastic response to this year’s photo competition and this is reflected by the quality of the finished product.
“Every penny from sales of the calendar goes towards our work to lessen the effects of climate change to make sure that the River Tyne and its tributaries are healthy and an asset for present and future generations to enjoy.
“It makes a fantastic Christmas present and we’re hoping it will be its best year yet as people move towards more socially conscious gifts.”
The calendar is available to buy from Hexham Abbey gift shop, Forum Books in Corbridge and The Sill, as well as on the Tyne Rivers Trust website: www.tyneriverstrust.org/shop
