FOR assaulting a woman on two separate occasions, a man has been given a 24-month community order.
Jordan Ewart (27), of Ennerdale Avenue, Carlisle, was sentenced at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to two charges of assault by beating.
The court heard that Ewart assaulted the woman in an address in Halton Lea Gate on June 5.
Four days later, he assaulted the same victim in the Malmaison Hotel, in Newcastle.
Sentencing him, magistrates also imposed a restraining order on Ewart prohibiting him from contacting the victim and entering Halton Lea Gate.
Ewart was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and court costs of £620.
