A TYNEDALE school has proved its excellence in promoting sustainable travel.
Allendale Primary School is one of only two schools to have received the pinnacle of gold Modeshift STARS accreditation, alongside Hareside Primary in Cramlington.
Modeshift STARS is the national school travel awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting walking, cycling and other forms of sustainable travel for the school journey.
In order to achieve gold, each school delivered 25 initiatives and 15 supporting initiatives.
Meanwhile, Hexham Priory School received a bronze award.
