COMMUNITIES will come together for services of remembrance on Sunday, November 10 to mark Armistice Day.

Hexham’s parade starts at 10.30am from Argyle Terrace. Soliders from 3 Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, Army Cadets and Air Force Cadets will march to the War Memorial for a service of remembrance and the laying of wreaths.

A parade will also march through Prudhoe after assembling at the legion car park at 10.30am. They will march to the Lychgate War Memorial at St Mary Magdalene Church followed by an act of remembrance at 11am.

And in Haltwhistle a combined service of remembrance will take place at 10am at Holy Cross Church, and afterwards at the war memorial. Ponteland will also hold a remembrance service on Sunday, at the Memorial Hall.

Services will be taking place in villages across the district, including at Mickley Club at 3pm, the war memorial in Stocksfield at 10.45am and at St Oswin’s Church in Wylam at 10am – followed by an act of remembrance at the war memorial at 11am.

In Corbridge, a church service is taking place in St Andrew’s Church at 10.45am, with a march also taking place from the Corstopitum Social Club car park, meeting at 10am.

In Haydon Bridge a joint service of remembrance will take place at St Cuthbert’s Church at 10.15, and immediately after at the memorial. Meanwhile an act of remembrance will take place at Allendale St Cuthbert’s Lych Gate at 10.50am.

In Bellingham, a village act of remembrance will take place at the war memorial at the cemetery chapel at 10.50am, and there will also be services at Otterburn, Corsenside and Falstone.
