PUPILS from two first schools have been working together to create a poignant poppy display across two East Tynedale villages.
Children from Stocksfield and Mickley First Schools have made their own poppies and written the names of the fallen on them.
They are displayed in green areas in both villages.
Northumberland County Council councillor Anne Dale, who represents the two villages, explained that it was fhe first time the schools had come together in this way.
Coun. Dale said: “We’ve set up a group with Mickley and Stocksfield first schools and St John’s Church in Stocksfield.
“It’s a big poppy celebration. It’s the first time we’ve done this.
“The children are making their own poppies and putting names on.”
Children from both schools will be involved in the Remembrance Sunday services next month.
