AN award-winning brew house has launched two limited edition ales – inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.

The Twice Brewed Brew House, next to the Twice Brewed Inn, at Once Brewed on Hadrian’s Hall, has launched Luna and Apollo.

They are now lining up alongside the likes of Ale Caesar, Sycamore Gap, Vindolanda IPA and Steel Rigg – some of the other ales brewed by the Brew House team.

In a nod to their inspiration, both new pale ales have been made using all American hops.

Luna is a 3.5 per cent Mosaic and Ekuanot pale ale, with a crisp, clean taste featuring tropical fruit aromas.

Twice Brewed Brew House’s head brewer, Matthew Brown, said: “It’s a really nice addition to the Twice Brewed family – a bit more of a modern craft beer.

“We didn’t have anything in our bottled range which had these tropical flavours and I think people are going to really like it.”

Meanwhile, Apollo uses Amarillo, Mosaic, Cascade and Centennial, which deliver more tropical flavours along with stone fruit and a hint of citrus.

Matthew added: “There’s already been a lot of interest in the new brews, and the response has been really positive.

“We’ve already sold out Luna in cask and keg.”

Luna and Apollo are both stocked and served at the neighbouring Twice Brewed Inn as well as a number of pubs across Northumberland.
