To mark British Curry Week, we asked our social media followers to recommend the best place in Tynedale to get a curry.
Close to 100 people took the time to suggest their favourite Indian restaurant, with the top five establishments receiving the most recommendations listed below.
1, Saathi, Hexham
Alan Donnelly, on Facebook, said: "Saathi without a shadow of doubt. Excellent food, fantastic staff and I ask you who doesn’t like the always smartly dressed, lovely warm greeting you receive on your arrival by one of the nicest pleasant gentlemen who makes it a pleasure to go there?"
2, Zyka, Hexham
Dale Golightly, on Facebook, said: "Without a doubt, Zyka is the best in Hexham. The best kima pelaw I've ever had and a great and different variety of curries, but chef Khaled Miah has the art of spicing nailed."
3, The Valley, Corbridge
Mark Gradwell, on Facebook, said: "To be honest, there is not a bad one in the Tyne Valley. They all produce great food with excellent service. I don't think anyone has mentioned it so I'm giving a shout out to the Valley, Corbridge for the Curry train."
4, Corbridge Tandoori
Jenny White, on Facebook, said: "We have always preferred the Corbridge Tandoori in the market place. Never been disappointed."
5, The Indus Valley, Hexham
Luke Devlin, on Twitter, said: "Always delivers on great taste, and never had a bad meal yet."
