A MAN has been fined for speeding and driving without due care and attention on the A69.

David Maughan (46), of Station Cottages, Hexham, pleaded guilty at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court last Thursday to both charges.

The court heard Maughan was caught travelling at 94mph on the A69 at Ovington on July 16.

For driving without due care and attention, he was fined £400 and his driving licence endorsed with eight penalty points.

For speeding, he was fined £150 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and court costs totalling £85.
