IN last week's edition, we reported that Michael Gray, of Prudhoe, was ordered by South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court to hand over a sum of £3,000.
We would like to clarify that Mr Gray was listed by the court solely because he was the owner of a car which had been reported stolen, and the sum of money found in the vehicle when it was recovered was believed by police to be the proceeds of crime. There is no suggestion that Mr Gray was in any way involved in any criminal activity.
We apologise for any confusion caused.
