AROUND £900 has been raised after three men braved the shave to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Research.
Gary Thompson, Brian Juffs and Sam Quigley all took part in the head shave event on Sunday at the General Havelock Inn, Haydon Bridge.
Landlady at the General Havelock, Jo Thompson, said the fund-raising event was one of many ways the pub helps raise money all year round.
“Brian and Sam’s lives have been affected by issues around cancer, so it’s very close to their hearts,” she said.
The trio sought the help of local hairdresser Susan Wray, who runs the mobile Barber Bus, to shave off the hair. Jo added: “The support of the local public has been absolutely fantastic and donations are still open.”
