VISITORS young and old delved behind the scenes of a working dairy farm and award-winning ice cream parlour.
Families turned up by the tractor load for the annual Wheelbirks Harvest Event, near Stocksfield, to explore what work was carried out on the farm.
Activities on the day included tractor and trailer rides, walking farm tours, sitting in combine harvesters and watching cows being milked in the parlour.
Last Saturday's event was timely as Wheelbirks farmer Hugh Richardson will appear on Sunday's episode of BBC show Countryfile. Mr Richardson spent time with presenter Tom Heap in exposing overnight rural crime, particularly poachers.
