CHILDREN at a Hexham school got the chance to meet the author behind some of their favourite books last week.
Peter J Murray paid a visit to Hexham Middle School to introduce his new book, Poppy Warrior, on September 30.
The story is about a computer-game obsessed boy and his twin sister who begin to experience spooky coincidences when they start at a new school.
Eventually, they make links to their past and realise they must stand brave, facing the real life horror of the First World War.
The school’s PTA covered the cost of his visit, meaning children from all year groups could take part.
Peter J Murray then held a book signing at the Beaumont Library? the following day, which many pupils from Hexham Middle School chose to attend.
