A HOUSEBUILDER has donated £1,000 to help support a community centre which focuses on disabled groups.
Barratt Developments is supporting The Torch Centre, which is near to the David Wilson Homes’ Woodland Rise development, which is part of the Barratt company, with the £1,000 donation from its new community fund.
The new initiative is designed to support charities and organisations in the areas in which it builds.
The donation aims to build and strengthen the community club, which is open to all residents of Hexham and the surrounding area, including their regular disabled user groups, such as Chrysalis and the Spinal Unit Sports Club.
It will contribute to modernisation and repair work including repairing the roof, upgrading the windows and internal doors and replacing the outdated technology.
