A WOMAN has received a 16-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months, after driving while four times over the legal alcohol limit.
Maria Horswill (39) of Old Barn, Stamfordham, pleaded guilty on September 19 at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court to the offence and a charge of driving without due care and attention.
The charges relate to an incident on July 1 in Ponteland when Horswill had 160 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
She was banned from driving for four years, and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £122 and costs of £85.
