COMMUNITIES across Tynedale were in full voice to celebrate BBC Music Day on Thursday.
Northumberland County Council worked collaboratively with the BBC to help bring music to everyone in the UK with dementia by 2020, using BBC Music Day as a platform.
This year's theme is music and wellbeing to inspire, bring people together and make a positive impact.
At Hexham Market Place, the Rock Choir, Male Voice Choir and Hexham Priory School Choir joined members of the public for songs 'Oh What A Beautiful Morning' and 'Bring Me Sunshine'.
Addressing the crowd, Hexham's Mayor Coun. Bob Hull said: "This is a wonderful occasion for the town. It brings about a great sense of togetherness and and community."
Elsewhere, crowds gathered outside the ADAPT Cafe, on Burn Lane in Hexham, as well as at the Charlotte Straker Care Home in Corbridge.
In Haltwhistle, special guests: Marilyn & Louise & their Ukuleles, Nick Leeming on the Northumbrian Pipes and members of the Breakaways Choir gathered with members of the public at Haltwhistle Hospital Community Room.
