CHURCHES and local communities in the Allen Valleys have joined forces to create a display of angels.
Parishioners of St Mark’s Church in Ninebanks, Holy Trinity in Whitfield, and St Cuthbert’s in Allendale are celebrating the festival of St Michael on Sunday, September 29.
Earlier this year, organisers sent out a message to the local communities to bring their angels to their local church to form part of the display.
Local parishioners responded in their droves and angels of all shapes, sizes and materials are now on show.
Organiser Sylvia Armstrong said: “Some people have knitted their own and some are made from card and metal. It’s a great way of involving the three churches and also the Allen Valleys community.”
Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite design in each church.
The angels are on display until October 4.
