THIS year’s Corsenside Parish Show marked 175 years of family fun on Saturday.
Gifted with the sunshine in West Woodburn, there were some new attractions to impress crowds, including a climbing tower, and a birds of prey display from Falconry Days of Simonburn.
Also new to the show were the homebrew and honey classes in the industrial tent.
George Dent retained the Farmura Cup for the best collection of vegetables, whilst John Bassett scooped the Challenge Cup for best pot or blanched leek, and a special prize for winner of the best six runner beans.
It was young Freya Robson who took the Tom Hughes Junior Cup for the most points in the children’s classes, and Maureen Johnson who landed the Challenge Tray for most points overall in the adult industrial section.
