THE annual Mickley Leek Club Show was well attended once again this year.
The show took place at Mickley Social Club on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8.
Gary Davison took home first prize, with 126.22 cu ins. for two leeks. Second place went to Paul Cooper, with 115.37 cu ins. and third place was John Frazer with 107.70 cu ins.
There was also a great variety of local produce entered over the weekend, with a fantastic display of flowers, an impressive industrial section and a competitive children’s section.
Eight-year-old Oliver Ghani won the children’s section with his best dressed vegetable.
The weekend also featured live entertainment on Saturday evening, while a number of auctions of the show produce took place.
