AN award-winning Prudhoe film-maker is set to premiere his latest work in the town.

Steven J.R. Lawson’s new film, Diseased Freaks, is set to come out on October 25 and will premiere at the Fuse Cinema.

The post-apocalyptic horror has been filmed entirely in Prudhoe, and will star Richard Heslop of Ovingham Drama Group, Samantha Macbeth of Dragon Tale Theatre Group and Molly Page of Prudhoe Castle First School.

Steven, of Law50n Studio, will introduce the event, while there will also be a chance to meet the cast and crew after the film.

The premiere is being hosted by the Movie Prop Warehouse, based at Low Prudhoe.

John Page, who runs the Movie Prop Warehouse, said: “Steven is such a talented film maker. We really want to elevate his work and gain him some much deserved recognition.

“With this project Steven has really raised the bar. It is easily his best work to date and the film is sure to win him even more international awards.”

Steven has won numerous awards at film festivals over the years.

In February, he won the Azure Lorica Fanfilm Awards 2019 ‘best director’ title for his fan film Westin Hills, a horror movie based on the Avengers Film Series.

All money from ticket sales will be going to Prudhoe Youth Charities.
