A WALKER was rescued after sustaining an injury on the Pennine Way on Sunday.
Volunteers from Penrith Mountain Rescue Team were called to assist a male near Garrigill who had injured his ankle while walking from Dufton to Alston.
The mountain rescue team deployed two Land Rovers to drive along the track from Garrigill to a location where the group of three had sought shelter.
The casualty and his two companions were then driven to their accommodation in Alston.
