A MAN has been banned from the roads for 20 months after driving on the A69 near Hexham while more than twice the legal drink driving limit.
Paul Alfred Farthing (39) of Candlish Street, South Shields, pleaded guilty to the charge at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.
It related to an incident on the A69 on July 5, when he was found to have 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
In addition to the driving ban, Farthing was also fined £1,000, received a victim surcharge of £100 and a further charge of £85.
