THE emotional turmoil which Rachel Gair, Craig Stock and their 12-year-old daughter Betsy have faced over the last 16 months is truly unimaginable.
Through no fault of their own, they have spent many precious months thousands of miles apart.
Their unfortunate situation attracted a wave of public support in the form of 96,000 signatures on a petition calling for them to be reunited.
The whole ordeal feels completely unnecessary and uncalled for at a time when immigration arrangements are regularly highlighted on the national news agenda thanks to the continuing uncertainty over Brexit.
The Home Office must be called upon to complete the final stage of the process to reunite the family without further delay.
