HUNDREDS of people flocked to Whitfield for the village’s annual fair.

Whitfield Village Fair was only formed 12 years ago, but it has become one of the most significant events in the village’s calendar.

The showfield opened at 10am on Sunday, with a strong showing of entries on offer in the industrial tent.

As ever, canine companions played a major role in the entertainment on offer.

Show-goers were able to enjoy the ever-popular dog show and terrier racing, while dog trainers Canny Canines returned for the second year in a row to deliver some dog agility demonstrations.

Elsewhere there was an array of food vans and activities for children, including go-karts.

Show secretary Caroline Jordan said: “It was a lovely day, the sun was shining down.

“It was a beautiful day, and plenty of people turned up.”
