A MEETING is to take place to discuss how Hexham will play its part in tackling climate change.
The event, organised by Hexham and District Branch Labour Party, and involving various local groups which have been formed to address the issue, will take place on Tuesday night at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church Hall.
Areas covered during the meeting will include tree planting, plastic free towns and villages, policy lobbying, carbon neutral building, town council policy and taking direct action.
The meeting comes after Hexham town councillors declared a climate emergency on Monday night.
