THREE brave boys will receive a national honour for helping to rescue a taxi driver from his vehicle following a crash.
Jack Bell (14), of Allendale, Kenzie Ringwood (13), of Haltwhistle, and Daniel Dodds (12), of Chollerford, managed to coax the driver out of his car after it came off the road and smashed into a tree as it transported the boys to Nunnykirk School, at Morpeth, in February.
As a result of their actions, all three will receive the prestigious Royal Humane Society Testimonials on Parchment at a date still to be determined.
The society’s secretary Andrew Chapman said: “They were true heroes and richly deserve the awards they are to receive.”
