A SELF-TAUGHT artist can now see her work on display on billboards across the country after it was chosen to promote one of her favourite TV shows.
Yvonne Bentley from Prudhoe won a fan art competition for posters to be used to promote the BBC’s hit series, Peaky Blinders, which has just started its fifth run.
She was one of 16 artists whose designs won the commission, which has seen their images displayed on billboards and bus stops.
Her watercolour shows the character Polly Gray, played by Helen McCrory. “I was absolutely thrilled,” Yvonne said. “Especially as I am a watercolourist, very much a traditional artist, and a lot of things are going digital now.”
