DOZENS of scarecrows lined the streets around Greenhead for the annual Greenhead Scarecrow Trail.

The trail received 35 entries, with scarecrows seen all over the route, ranging from the BFG to the White Lady at Blenkinsopp.

A scarecrow prime minister was even spotted enjoying a cup of tea.

The trail is in aid of the Greenhead Church of England Primary School and the Rainbow Nursery, with prizes including £50, four balls at the golf course, and meal vouchers, all donated by local businesses.

Other attractions included the ‘Secret Garden’, an interactive art installation for children and families, and an exhibition of ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ at St Cuthbert’s Church.

The exhibition coincided with the raffle draw, craft stalls, and cream tea on August 25

The Greenhead Scarecrow Trail ran from August 17 to August 25.
